Softball

          Joseph LaBella was named assistant softball coach prior to the start of the 2007 season.  His responsibilities include assisting with the day-to-day operations of the program, on field coaching, skill development, and game day management. 

          LaBella has coached fastpitch softball since 1997, and has been involved with travel softball teams in the Westchester area.  His most recent coaching experience came with the Westchester Heat Fastpitch travel team, where he was the assistant coach from 2001-2003.  In 2002, the team traveled to Raleigh, North Carolina, to compete in the Pony Nationals against premier clubs from up and down the east coast, finishing in the top 30.  His first coaching position in 1997 was as an assistant coach for The Westchester Stars Fastpitch travel team.  He helped coach that squad until 1999. 

          LaBella is a 1980 graduate of New Rochelle High School.  Since the summer of 1984, he has been working for the Westchester County Department of Environmental Facilities.  He worked his way up in the department and in 1995, he became the Superintendent of Maintenance.  He and his wife Linda currently reside in Mamaroneck, NY, and have three children - Samantha, a freshman on the Mercy College softball and women's soccer team, Julianna, a senior at Concordia College and a member of the softball team, and Joseph, age 14, who attends Rye Neck high school.
