Jacqui Huffman was named Mercy's head softball coach in May of 2006, after serving the previous two months as interim head coach.
Huffman brings an extensive background of youth softball experience in the New York Metropolitan area. She is currently the head instructor at Frozen Ropes in White Plains, NY, a position she has held for the last six years. Huffman has also coached the 16-U Frozen Ropes travel squad and was head coach/owner of the New York Clippers 18-U travel team. She has previously served as an instructor at area softball clinics and works with local softball youth leagues.
A native of Dobbs Ferry, NY, Huffman played at Mercy in 2002-03 as an outfielder and pitcher. She played for Dobbs Ferry High School from 1992-96 where she earned several honors, including All-State, All-County and All-League, tossing a pair of no-hitters during her senior campaign.
Huffman was formerly employed by Mercy College as the paraprofessional coordinator and also worked for the Dobbs Ferry police department as a dispatcher.
She is a graduate of Mercy College, earning a bachelor's degree
in criminal justice. She currently resides in Dobbs Ferry, NY, with
her husband Derek Kannapin, and their children Austin and Maysin.
