Samantha Tenney joins the Mercy College softball coaching staff ahead of the 2016 season. Tenney will work with the catchers, help out with the pitchers and have other responsibilities with strength and conditioning.
"We are thrilled to have Sam as a member of the staff. She will serve as a great role model to our student athletes having been a member of two regional championship teams and having twice been to the college world series. Her experiences as both a HS coach and college player will make her a valuable asset to our team,” states Head Coach Mike Fazio.
Tenney joins the Mavericks staff after beginning her coaching career as a varsity softball assistant coach at Saranac High School during the 2015 season, where she helped planned practices.
Prior to her coaching career, Tenney had strong career as a four-year member of the SUNY Plattsburgh softball team, graduating in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Individual Studies Science Based and a Minor in Personal Training. Tenney was a member of the SUNYAC All-Academic Team in 2012 and 2014 and was a member of Chi Alpha Sigma from 2012-2014.
Tenney is currently enrolled as a graduate student at Mercy College.
