Jacqui Huffman was named Mercy's head softball coach in May of 2006, after serving the previous two months as interim head coach.

Huffman brings an extensive background of youth softball experience in the New York Metropolitan area. She is currently the head instructor at Frozen Ropes in White Plains, NY, a position she has held for the last six years. Huffman has also coached the 16-U Frozen Ropes travel squad and was head coach/owner of the New York Clippers 18-U travel team. She has previously served as an instructor at area softball clinics and works with local softball youth leagues.

A native of Dobbs Ferry, NY, Huffman played at Mercy in 2002-03 as an outfielder and pitcher. She played for Dobbs Ferry High School from 1992-96 where she earned several honors, including All-State, All-County and All-League, tossing a pair of no-hitters during her senior campaign.

Huffman was formerly employed by Mercy College as the paraprofessional coordinator and also worked for the Dobbs Ferry police department as a dispatcher.

She is a graduate of Mercy College, earning a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. She currently resides in Dobbs Ferry, NY, with her husband Derek Kannapin, and their children Austin and Maysin.

Hastings joined the Mercy College softball staff in the fall of 2007. She will assist with the day-to-day operations of the program, instruct both the offense and defense, and work closely with the hitters.

Hastings was a four-year starter as an outfielder and catcher at Division I Towson University from 2004-2007, where the Tigers combined to register 134 wins, including a pair of 38-win seasons. During her career, she racked up 127 hits, including 32 doubles and 11 home runs, while driving in 65 runs, collecting 24 stolen bases, and recording a .981 fielding percentage, making only 12 errors in over 600 chances. As a senior and a team captain, Hastings set career-highs with six home runs and 21 runs driven in. She posted career-highs of 53 hits and 15 doubles to earn Second Team All-CAA honors as a junior.

Hastings has coached at numerous camps, including the last three years for Michele Smith and four years at Towson. She is also currently an instructor at Frozen Ropes in White Plains. Hastings continues to play competitive softball with the New Jersey Elite 23-U team, helping her squad to an ASA New Jersey State Championship in 2007.

A 2007 graduate of Towson, Hastings earned a bachelor's degree in sports management with a minor in business administration.
