LOUISVILLE, Ky. (May 10, 2017) – Mercy College softball junior Morgan Lloyd (East Lyme, Conn./East Lyme) and junior Skania Lemus (Chula Vista, Calif./Southwestern CC) have been named to the 2017 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-East Region First Team.
Lloyd, who was the ECC Co-Player of the Year and First Team All-ECC selection, led the conference in hitting throughout the season and heading into NCAA Championship play, she paces the ECC in batting average at .442, over 30 points higher than the runner-up. Her batting average is also among the best nationally, currently ranking in top 50 in all of Division II. She also is second in the ECC with 65 hits, a .468 on-base percentage and 13 doubles, and fourth with 86 total bases. Additionally, she ranks in the top-10 in the conference with 29 runs batted in, and a .585 slugging percentage.
Lemus earns All-Region honors after being named to the All-ECC First Team in her first year as a Maverick. The junior recorded 59 hits, 32 runs scored, 31 RBI, and five stolen bases. The junior currently sports a .409 batting average. Lemus leads the Mavericks with 32 runs scored, 89 total bases and five triples.
