Mercy Junior Chelsea Methot Names Second Team All-ECC in Softball
Today, the East Coast Conference announced the 2010 All-Conference teams for softball, and Mercy junior Chelsea Methot (Bristol, Conn./Bristol Central) was named to the Second Team. The teams were announced in conjunction with the 2010 ECC Softball Championships, held at the Dowling College Sports Complex in Brookhaven, N.Y.
Methot patrolled centerfield for the blue and grey while batting primarily in the four slot. Methot hit .343 for the season, with 48 hits on 140 at bats. She led the Mavericks with eleven homeruns and 40 RBI. During the season, Methot reached a special milestone, recording her 100th basehit.
Mercy recently completed the season with a record of 19-27, including an 8-20 mark in the ECC. The 19 wins are the most for the program since 1985, when Mercy posted a 19-9 record.
