Mercy Softball Drops Doubleheader at Dowling

The Mercy College softball team dropped a pair of games at Dowling this afternoon, losing 16-1 and 6-1. 

In game one, Mercy managed no hits, but did scratch out an unearned run in the second inning.  In game two, Chelsea Methot (Bristol, Conn./Bristol Central) drove home Paige Cauley (Stratford, N.J./Iona College) for Mercy’s lone score.

Shanna Hicks (Marlboro, N.Y./SUNY New Paltz) and Alex Oakes (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Lakeland) took the losses.

The Mavericks (6-10, 0-4 ECC) next game is on Saturday, April 3, when St. Thomas Aquinas comes to Dobbs Ferry for an afternoon doubleheader.
