Alicia Martin Earns ECC Softball Rookie of the Week Honors

DOBBS FERRY, NY - Freshman outfielder Alicia Martin (Massapequa, NY) has been named East Coast Conference (ECC) Softball Rookie of the Week, as announced on Tuesday.

Martin hit .391 with seven runs scored and four RBI for the week. She also smashed a three-run home run against Bridgeport, and led the team with a .440 on base percentage. Martin was 2-for-3 with two runs scored in both game two against Briarcliffe and game one versus Nyack.

For the season, Martin is batting .276 with a team best 16 RBI. She is also tied for the team lead in doubles with seven. She has scored 13 runs and is third on the team in total bases with 36.

The Mavericks (9-24, 2-12 ECC) will be back in action on Tuesday, April 22 when they take on New Haven at home in a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m.
