Mercy College Softball Drops Two at Adelphi 8-0 and 6-1

GARDEN CITY, N.Y. - The Mercy College softball team was defeated by host Adelphi on Tuesday, April 10, by scores of 8-0 and 6-1. The Flyers are 0-8 overall and in East Coast Conference (ECC) play, while the Panthers improved to 20-8 overall and 8-2 in the conference.
Senior outfielder Eileen Sacharewitz (Bedford, NY) highlighted the second game with two hits, a single and a home run. Freshman pitcher Stephanie Pereyo (Southington, CT) recorded five strikeouts in the first contest, while in the second game and junior pitcher Jessica Madick (Tarzana, CA) fanned six for the Flyers. Adelphi's Julie Schaper recorded a no-hitter in game one.
The Flyers will be back in action on Wednesday, April 11, when they travel to Post. The first pitch is slated for 3:00 p.m.
