Barbaros Ozdogan was appointed Head Coach of the Mercy College men's tennis team in the summer of 2001.  Since his arrival, Ozdogan's teams have made four straight NCAA Tournament appearances and won a share of the NYCAC regular season title in the spring of 2006, as he was named NYCAC Coach of the Year by his peers. He followed up in 2007 by guiding the squad to a NCAA Tournament Round of 16 appearance, a No. 31 final national ranking, and a No. 2 East Region ranking.

Prior to Mercy College, Ozdogan was a member of the Baruch College tennis team that was coached by Florin Giuglescu (Former trainer of Yannick Noah). Their team won the CUNY Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Championship for the first time since 1980. Ozdogan played at number two and won the singles and doubles titles. At the end of the 2000 season he was awarded team MVP.

Between 1993 and 1996 he managed a leading German tennis camp in Turkey where he was responsible for a 24-tennis court complex. In 1995 Barbaros received advanced coaching training from Detlev J. Irmler (Former trainer of German Davis Cup team) in Mallorca, Spain. In 1996 he attended a coaching program that was led by Bob Brett (Former trainer of Boris Becker and Goran Ivanisevic). In August of 2008, he attended the USTA High performance coaching clinic in Los Angeles.

Ozdogan is a PTR certified tennis coach. He received his MBA from Baruch College and he is a full time faculty member in the Internet Business Systems program at Mercy College.
