Mercy College Men's Tennis Concludes Action at ITA East Regionals
BLOOMSBURG, PA - The Mercy College men's tennis team wrapped up its trip to the ITA East Region Championships, hosted by Bloomsburg University, on Sunday.
In the semifinals of the doubles draw, seniors Alican Seren (Istanbul, Turkey) and Zeki Tukel (Istanbul, Turkey) dropped a 7-5, 6-2 decision to Alex Grubin and Rodrigo Teixeira of Concordia.
Seren and Tukel both also competed in the quarterfinals of the A-Flight draw. Seren fell to Josep Molet from Concordia, 7-5, 6-2, and Tukel was defeated by Santiago Baquerizo, 6-4, 6-3.
The squad, ranked No. 31 in last year's final national poll, will return to action in the spring of 2008.
