Mercy's Mehdi Rhazali Named to ECC Men's Tennis All-Conference Second Team
DOBBS FERRY, NY - Mercy College freshman Mehdi Rhazali (Rabat, Morocco) has been named to the East Coast Conference (ECC) Men's Tennis All-Conference Second Team, as announced on Thursday.
Rhazali enjoyed great success in his first collegiate season with the Mavericks. Overall, he went 6-4 in singles and 6-6 in doubles play. On April 5, Rhazali defeated fellow Second Team member Anton Voynon of Adelphi in three sets. In non-conference action, he defeated Bryant's Jose Rodriguez, ranked No. 45 in the nation, in three sets.
In the ECC Semi-finals, Rhazali teamed up with Zeki Tukel (Istanbul, Turkey) against Queens' Fabio Minami and Dave Burstein, and defeated the pair 8-2.
During the season, Rhazali earned ECC Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week three times.
The Mavericks finished its season at 4-7 overall and 3-2 in the conference.
