Mercy Tennis Courts Get Boost with Bubble
DOBBS FERRY, NY - Mercy College announced today that it has partnered with a local company on the installation of a temporary enclosure over two of its tennis courts in the center of the Dobbs Ferry campus, making them accessible to the College community during the cold weather months.
The enclosure was installed as part of a three-year agreement
with Wildcat Tennis LLC, which offers group and private tennis
lessons at the courts for a fee. A schedule was developed allowing members of the Mercy
community to utilize the facility at designated times every day.
Installation of the enclosure is beneficial to those participating
in Mercy's athletics and recreation programs and all members of the
College community who now have access to the tennis courts
year-round.
"All of our programs have access to it. It's been great," said
Co-Interim Athletics Director Bill Sullivan. "It's another valuable
indoor space for us which is something you can never have enough
of. To me, it's more than a tennis facility. I look at it as an
indoor athletics facility."
The enclosure will be taken down in the middle of May and will go
back up in October for next winter's season. Campus security will
open and close the facility during the designated time periods. The
courts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. For
more information, contact Sullivan at (914) 674-7566 or wsullivan@mercy.edu.
