Mercy College Men's Tennis to Host Dowling in Semifinals of ECC Championships on Friday, April 20, at Westchester Community College

          DOBBS FERRY, NY - The Mercy College men's tennis team, currently ranked No. 37 in the nation, will host Dowling College on Friday, April 20, in the semifinals of the 2007 East Coast Conference (ECC) Team Championships.  The contest was moved from Thursday to Friday due to recent inclement weather.  The match will start at 3:00 p.m., and will be played at Westchester Community College in Valhalla, NY.

          Mercy, the No. 2 seed in the tournament, is currently 8-2 overall and finished with a 4-1 record in ECC play.  The Flyers have won four straight matches.

          Dowling will be the No. 3 seed after posting a 9-4 overall record and a 3-2 mark in ECC action.

          In their head-to-head regular season match on April 10, the Flyers came out on top, posting a 6-3 decision. Top-seeded Concordia will also host fourth-seeded Queens on Friday.  The two semifinal winners will meet in the championship match on Saturday, April 21.
