Going into the weekend, at 0-1 in the ECC, the Mavs had to make the long journey up to the newest member in the conference, Roberts Wesleyan College (Rochester, N.Y.) and play a night game. This was an especially tough task after being 0-1-2 in the last three games after starting 5-0-0. In a game that can be defined as the worst performance of the season by the Mavs, somehow, with unbelievable persistence and execution, the Mavs tied the game in the 89th minute forcing overtime and eventually winning it in OT on a goal by William Koki. His 8 goals thus far has him in the top ten in Division II. After a tedious commute home and possibly tired legs, the Mavericks pulled off their best performance of the season in opening up our new turf field with a pivotal win against NYIT, last season's ECC champion.
