Men’s Soccer Ranked No. 9 in NSCAA East Region

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Sept. 21, 2011) – The Mercy College men's soccer team has been ranked No. 9 in the East region of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Rankings as of Sept. 20, 2011.  The recognition caps off an incredible week for the Mavericks, who knocked off Bridgeport (3-2 record), then ranked No. 10 in the region, and posted two more wins to improve their record to 4-1-1 on the season.

All three matches were won by identical 2-1 score lines, and junior goalkeeper Nick Papas (Castleton, N.Y.) earned ECC Player of the Week Honor Roll accolades for his 14 saves (.824 save percentage) over the week.

The 4-1-1 start is the program's best in a decade.  Senior back Colin Legge (Schodack, N.Y.) and junior forward William Koki (Aurora, Colo.) lead the team with three goals apiece, while Legge's three assists also top the squad.
