      <description>DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (April 24, 2012) &#x2013; Mercy College hosted the Men&#x2019;s Soccer Alumni Day at Dobbs Ferry High School on Saturday, April 21.  More than 30 alumni took part in the event, with players representing each of the past three decades returning to take on the current squad in an exhibition game that drew fans from their own youth teams, families and friends.</description>

(Oct. 29, 2011) &#x2013; On Saturday afternoon the Mercy College men&#x2019;s soccer team traveled to Dowling College on Long Island for the final match of the season.  The Mavericks controlled the game in the first half but the Golden Lions battled back as the match wore on, finally getting the game-winner in the 88th minute to end their season with a 6-7-3 overall record (1-4-2 in the ECC) and leave the Mavericks with a 6-10-1 overall mark (1-6 in the ECC).</description>

The Mavericks were unlucky not to send them off in style, cracking 18 shots to the Lions&#x2019; 14 and forcing seven corners to no avail as they fell 3-0.  Mercy was more than unlucky not to find the net thanks in part to several brilliant saves by redshirt freshman goalkeeper Justin Corke (Valley Stream, N.Y.), who made six in total.</description>

(Oct. 1, 2011) &#x2013; On Saturday night, the Mercy College men&#x2019;s soccer team took on St. Thomas Aquinas at Manhattanville College due to poor field conditions at Dobbs Ferry.   The Spartans entered the match ranked No. 4 in the NSCAA East regional rankings and had received votes in the NCAA Division II rankings thanks to an undefeated 5-0-3 overall record (0-0-1 in the ECC) and were fresh off a 7-0 victory over Caldwell College.  Known for their shutdown defense (ranked eighth in Division II) and solid offense, St. Thomas Aquinas needed its best at both ends to steal the victory from the Mavericks, who led once in each half but ultimately could not knock off the Spartans.</description>

(Sept. 17, 2011) &#x2013; On Saturday afternoon, the Mercy College men&#x2019;s soccer team opened conference play in front of a home crowd against the University of Bridgeport, ranked No. 10 in the East Region by the NSCAA.  The Mavericks fell behind by a goal in the first half but found an equalizer on a penalty in the second and came away with the win as time expired in the first overtime period.</description>

The Mavericks came away with a thrilling 2-1 overtime victory, scoring just two minutes into extra time to take the match and improve to 3-1-1 this season while dropping Felician to 2-3.</description>
