Chris Smith Weighs in on FIFA Word Cup
Mercy College Men's Soccer Coach Chris Smith Weighs in on Upcoming FIFA World Cup games
July 2 Games
Uruguay vs. Ghana
I believe Ghana and Uruguay is a toss up. Ghana is the
only African team remaining and has a good core of young players
that have done well at the international youth level. Beating
the US was a great win when you consider the amount of quality
chances they had. As far as Uraguay, they have moved the ball
well, defended well and have had very good individual moments from
their key guys. If Ghana can neutralize Uruguay's better
players and get quality and timely goalkeeping they have a
chance. Pick-Ghana in pk's.
Brazil vs. Holland
Brazil and Holland is a match up of two quality teams who can
possess the ball and dictate the play. Holland is a trendy
pick but Brazil looks too strong right now. Pick-Brazil
2-1.

Germany vs. Argentina
Germany and Argentina is a classic match up with two different
styles. The winner of this game wins the World Cup.
Germany in pk's.
Spain vs. Paraguay
As far as the last game, I'm going to go with Spain over
Paraguay. Spain is just way too good.
