Mercy Men's Soccer Edged by Lock Haven, 2-1

DOBBS FERRY, NY - The Mercy College men's
soccer team was defeated by Lock Haven University on Sunday by a
score of 2-1.
The Bald Eagles (3-3-1) got on the board first when Andrew Clemens
scored on a penalty kick in the 19th minute. The Mavericks (1-4)
came right back on sophomore Hugo Bernal's (Guadalajara,
Mexico) goal off of sophomore Mike Fernandes'
(Mount Vernon, NY) corner kick in the 20th minute.
With the score knotted at one in the second period, Paul Brungard
put the Bald Eagles back on top and for good with a header off a
corner kick in the 63rd minute.
Lock Haven out shot the Mavericks 13-7.
The Mavericks will be back in action when they travel to play
Dominican on Wednesday, September 17.
