Palm Beach Atlantic Holds Off Mercy College Men's Soccer 1-0
DOBBS FERRY, NY - Mark Cabrera scored a second half goal to lift Palm Beach Atlantic to a 1-0 decision over host Mercy College in a non-conference men's soccer game on Thursday. The Mavericks are now 6-6-3 overall, while the Sailfish improved to 10-4.
Neither team could find the net in the first half. The contest remained scoreless until the 59th minute when Cabrera connected on a cross from Kyle Crouse on the right side. That would be all the Sailfish would need as they held on from there.
Palm Beach Atlantic out-shot Mercy 15-7. Sophomore goalkeeper Carl Spence (St. Catherine, Jamaica) made six saves for the Mavericks. Joseph Yurchak stopped two shots for the Sailfish.
Mercy will return to action on Monday, October 29, at The University of the District of Columbia.
