Flyers Play to Scoreless Tie with No. 20 C.W. Post in Season Finale

          DOBBS FERRY, NY - The Mercy College men's soccer team played C.W. Post, ranked No. 20 in the nation, to a scoreless tie on Monday, October 23.  The Flyers finish the year at 6-5-3 overall and in fifth place in the East Coast Conference (ECC) at 3-2-3.  The Pioneers moved to 12-3-3 overall and 6-1-1 in league action.

          The Flyers' controlled the tempo for most of regulation and held a 14-6 advantage in shots for the first 90 minutes, but could not find the back of the net.

     The pace picked up even more in overtime with C.W. Post firing six shots in the extra frames to Mercy's three, but again neither team could finish.

      Both goalkeepers played well in net with Mercy's Carl Spence (St. Catherine, Jamaica) making five saves, three in overtime.  C.W. Post goalkeeper Rocco Morelli (North Bellmore, NY) finished with eight saves.
