Mercy Men's Soccer Ranked No. 8 in NSCAA Northeast Regional Poll

DOBBS FERRY, NY - The Mercy College men's soccer team is ranked No. 8 in this week's National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas Northeast Regional Poll.

Mercy (5-5-2, 3-2-2 ECC) has gone 1-0-1 in its last two outings, defeating NYIT by a score of 2-1, on Saturday, before playing New Haven to a 1-1 tie on Tuesday.

Junior midfielder Nizar Chahbani (Menzel Bourguiba, Tunisia) has taken over the team scoring lead with 10 points on three goals and a team-best four assists. Against NYIT, Chabani scored the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute on a break away.  He gave the Flyers the draw in yesterday's game versus New Haven, tying the contest in the 72nd minute on a header off a corner kick served by sophomore forward Quaison Carter (Teaneck, NJ).

Mercy will be back in action again on Thursday, October 19, at Post University for a non-conference game.  The Flyers will then close out the regular season on Saturday, October 21, at home versus C.W. Post beginning at noon. Mercy will honor its seniors prior to the game.
