Mercy's Norton Carnegie Earns Second Straight
ECC Defensive Player of the Week

DOBBS FERRY, NY - Mercy College senior defender Norton Carnegie (Kingston, Jamaica) has been named East Coast Conference (ECC) Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.  It marks the second straight week he has earned the honor.

Carnegie scored the game-tying goal with only 3:18 to play in regulation, and helped hold Molloy without a shot in either extra period in the Flyers' 2-1 double-overtime road ECC win last Wednesday. On Saturday, Norton helped hold down a potent Dowling offense in a 1-0 loss, with the match's lone goal coming off a direct kick just outside the top of the penalty area.

The Flyers are currently 4-3-0 overall, 2-1-0 in ECC play, and are ranked No. 7 in the Northeast region. Mercy returns to action on Tuesday, October 3, at Concordia.
