Felician Tops Mercy Men's Soccer in Overtime, 1-0
Box Score

DOBBS FERRY, NY - Junior midfielder Armin Tandir (Hackettstown, NJ) scored six minutes and 27 seconds into the first overtime period to lift Felician College over host Mercy College in a non-conference soccer match on Monday, September 11. The win is Felician's first of the season as the Golden Falcons improved to 1-5-0, while Mercy's record now stands at an even 2-2-0.

After a scoreless regulation in which both teams put up a solid defense, Felician seized its opportunity in the 97th minute as Tandir converted a quick touch from Piotr Snihur (Llawa, Poland) during a scramble in front.

Mercy held a 13-10 advantage in shots and had its best chance to score midway through the second half when Issiaka Sow (Bronx, NY) fired a shot on goal, but found the cross bar.  Sophomore Paulo DosSantos (Toronto, Canada) made two saves to earn the shutout for Felician. Senior Nicholas Evans (Kingston, Jamaica) played the first 45 minutes in goal for Mercy, making a pair of stops. Freshman Carl Spence (St. Catherine, Jamaica) made one save over the final 51:27.
