Mercy's Michael Frimpong-Manso Named NYCAC Men's Soccer Rookie of the Year
Frimpong-Manso, Augusto and Carnegie earn All-NYCAC honors.

DOBBS FERRY, NY - Mercy College freshman Michael Frimpong-Manso has been named the 2005 New York Collegiate Athletic Conference (NYCAC) Men's Soccer Rookie of the Year. Frimpong-Manso, Alexandre Augusto, and Newton Carnegie also earned All-NYCAC honors.

Frimpong-Manso was named Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-NYCAC after leading the Flyers in scoring with 22 points on a team-high nine goals and four assists.

Augusto was a First Team All-NYCAC selection as a midfielder. The 5-foot-8 senior was second on the squad with eight points on two goals and four assists.

Carnegie, a 6-foot-2 senior, was an anchor on the Mercy defense, earning Third Team All-NYCAC honors and helping the team hold opponents to only 1.38 goals per game. He also chipped in three points with a goal and one assist.
