Men's Lacrosse Ranked Ninth in First USILA Preseason Coaches Poll
PERRY, N.Y. (Feb. 14, 2012) - The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's (USILA) coaches' preseason rankings came out today and the Mercy College men's lacrosse squad was slotted ninth in the nation amongst Division II. The Mavericks received 37 votes.
This announcement comes fresh off the Mavericks being picked fifth in the competitive East Coast Conference preseason poll and junior goalkeeper T.J. DiCarlo (Farmingdale, N.Y.) named the league's favorite for Defensive Player of the Year.
Head Coach Steve Manitta and his club will open up the 2012 season with an ECC-battle against Chestnut Hill College on Saturday, February 25. The opening faceoff is slated for 1:00 p.m. For any venue changes, please continue to check www.MercyAthletics.com.
