The wins keep coming for the Mercy College men’s lacrosse team, and the USILA continues to keep watch. This week, the Mavericks improve to #6 in the country in the latest Coaches Poll, as was released this morning.
This is the sixth weekly poll, and Mercy has now been ranked for the fifth consecutive week. The #6 ranking is the highest in school history.
Remaining in first place is Limestone College, who earned all nine first place votes en route to 119 points and the top ranking. Limestone remains undefeated at 10-0. LeMoyne College is in second place with 109 points, followed by four straight East Coast Conference schools.
C. W. Post is #3 with 100 points, followed by Mercyhurst with 92 points, Dowling with 74 points, and Mercy with 68.
Adelphi is in seventh place with 61 points, followed by ECC member NYIT with 49 points. Rounding out the Top 12 are Merrimack, Queens (N.C.), Catawba, and Mars Hill.
Mercy beat Lake Erie on Saturday to run its record to 8-1 overall, and 4-1 in the ECC. Mercy’s sole loss was to Mercyhurst, 9-7, on March 19.
The Mavericks have nine days in between games, and will next play at Dominican College on Monday, April 11.
