Mercy Men's Lacrosse Improves to #8 in the Nation
For the second consecutive week, the Mercy College men's lacrosse team is ranked in the top ten in Division II in the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Coaches Poll. Mercy is tied for eighth place, in the fourth weekly poll of the season, through games of March 13, 2011.
A week ago, the Mavericks entered the poll in tenth place.
C.W. Post remains atop the poll at 7-0 with 108 points, followed by Limestone (N.C.) with 100 points. ECC member Dowling is in third (86), followed by LeMoyne (78), Merrimack (74), Mercyhurst (57), and Mars Hill (39). Mercy is tied for eighth place with Bentley with 37 points. Rounding out the Top 12 is Queens (N.C.) (33), Adelphi (23), and Catawba (17).
Mercy is 4-0 on the season, and will host Franklin Pierce on Wedensday, March 16, in Danbury, Conn. On Saturday, Mercy heads to western Pennsylvania, to face #6 Mercyhurst.
Mercy College is in its second year of men's lacrosse, competing in the competitive East Coast Conference. The main campus is located in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.
