Adam Parmenter was named the head men's basketball coach prior to the 2010-11 season.

Parmenter first came to Mercy College for the 2008-09 season, serving as an assistant coach. He was then promoted to Associate Head Coach for the 2009-10 campaign.

“Adam Parmenter allows us to provide continuity for the program,” Kennedy said. “His knowledge of the game, of our student-athletes, and the East Coast Conference make him the right person for this job.”

Parmenter has assisted with the day-to-day operations of the program, scheduling, general instruction and strategic in-game situations. His strong recruiting presence on the national level has allowed the program to become involved with some of the top high school and junior college players.

He is currently the Director of Development at Five-Star Basketball, Inc. where he assists in camp recruiting, serves as administrative director, assists with marketing efforts, and coordinates special events. He also edits instructional material, such as the "Five-Star Coaches' Playbook: Vol. 2."

Prior to Mercy, Parmenter coached at the Fordham Preparatory School as the Assistant Varsity Basketball Coach and Head Junior Varsity Basketball Coach. He managed the junior varsity team in all aspects, including selection of team roster, implementation of practice plans and in-game strategies.

He was also an assistant coach at the collegiate level with Daniel Webster College. He helped with all aspects of the NCAA Division III program and identified and recruited prospective student-athletes.

Parmenter graduated from the University of Miami (FL) with a Bachelor's degree of Business in Sports Administration. He resides in northern New Jersey with his wife and their newborn daughter, Zoe.
