Mercy Student-Athletes Partake in Dr. Seuss' Read Across America Day
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Mar. 2, 2012) - On Friday, Mercy College student-athletes from the Mavericks' field hockey and men's basketball teams helped give back to the Dobbs Ferry community as they headed over to the Greenburgh Eleven Elementary School a few miles from campus. These student-athletes read to Greenburgh's elementary school students on Dr. Seuss' birthday, which is Read Across America Day.

Men’s Basketball Concludes Season with Tight Loss to St. Thomas Aquinas, 67-64
SPARKILL, N.Y. (Feb. 25, 2012) – On Saturday afternoon, the Mercy College men’s basketball squad finished up its 2011-12 campaign with a heartbreaking 67-64 defeat to league-opponent St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill, N.Y. With the win, the Spartans improved to 9-17 overall and 5-11 in the ECC. Following the loss, the Mavericks slipped to 4-22 on the season and 3-13 in conference play.

Athletics Department Helps Raise Money for Breast Cancer Research Through Pink Zone Games
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Feb. 24, 2012) - On Wednesday, Feb. 22, the Mercy College athletics department hosted a "Pink Zone" basketball doubleheader against East Coast Conference-opponent Dowling College in an effort to promote breast cancer awareness and raise money for research.

Men’s Basketball Falls in Final Home Game of Season to Dowling, 68-53
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Feb. 22, 2012) – On Wednesday, the Mercy College men’s basketball team slipped up against East Coast Conference-opponent Dowling College on Senior Day, 68-53, at Mercy Gymnasium in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. With the win, the Golden Lions improved to 11-14 overall and 7-8 in the league. Following the defeat, the Mavericks dropped to 4-21 on the year and 3-12 in conference action.

Men’s Basketball Upends ECC Foe Queens College, 60-54
QUEENS, N.Y. (Feb. 18, 2012) – Junior forward Joseph Pope (Akron, Ohio) poured in 17 points, hitting eight of his nine shots, as the Mercy College men’s basketball team avenged an earlier loss to East Coast Conference opponent Queens College in the conference Doubleheader of the Week, defeating the Knights 60-54 in Fitzgerald Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.

(Feb. 15, 2012) – On Wednesday evening, in the Mercy College men’s basketball team’s penultimate home game this year, the Mavericks were topped by No. 22 the University of the District of Columbia, 111-68, at Mercy Gymnasium in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. With the win, the Firebirds improved to 20-3 overall and 11-2 in the East Coast Conference. Following the defeat, the Mavericks slipped to 3-20 on the season and 2-11 in the league.

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Feb. 8, 2012) – On Wednesday night, the Mercy College men’s basketball team fell in East Coast Conference action to league juggernaut C.W. Post, 98-67, at the Pratt Recreation Center in Brookville, N.Y. Following the win, the Pioneers improved to 16-5 on the year (10-1 ECC), while the Mavericks slipped to 3-19 overall (2-10 ECC).

(Feb. 4, 2012) – The Mercy College men’s basketball squad fell to East Coast Conference-opponent New York Institute of Technology this afternoon, 90-79, at Mercy Gymnasium in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. With the win, the Bears improved to 8-11 on the campaign and moved to 5-5 in the league. Following the loss, the Mavericks slipped to 3-18 overall (2-9 ECC).

Pope and Senior Combine for 47 Points as Men’s Basketball Triumphs Over Molloy for Crucial ECC Win, 72-63
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Feb. 1, 2012) – Playing amongst a sold-out Mercy Gymnasium crowd and an uproarious and energetic audience, the Mercy College men’s basketball squad defeated East Coast Conference-opponent Molloy College, 72-63, in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. on Wednesday evening. Junior guard Colin Senior poured in 24 points, while junior forward Joseph Pope racked up 23 points to help propel the Mavericks past the Lions.

(Jan. 28, 2012) – On Saturday afternoon, the Mercy College men’s basketball squad received a 22-point performance out of junior guard Colin Senior (Hackensack, N.J.), but fell at the hands of East Coast Conference-opponent the University of Bridgeport, 93-81, at Mercy Gymnasium in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. With the win, the Purple Knights improved to 12-7 overall and 7-2 in the league. Following the defeat, the Mavericks dropped to 2-17 on the season and now own a 1-8 mark in the conference.

With the win, the Golden Lions improved to 7-10 overall and 3-4 in the league. Following the loss, the Mavericks dropped to 2-16 on the year and 1-7 in the conference.

With the win, the Mavericks improved to 2-15 overall and 1-6 in the ECC. Following the defeat, the Spartans fell to 7-9 on the year and 3-4 in the league.

(Jan. 19, 2012) – On Thursday evening, the Mercy College men’s basketball team fell to non-conference-opponent Goldey-Beacom College by the final score of 72-48 at the Joseph Jones Center in Wilmington, Del. With the win, the Lightning improved to 8-7 on the year. Following the defeat, the Mavericks dropped to 1-15 overall.

Lee Notches Double-Double for Men’s Basketball in ECC Loss to University of D.C.
WASHINGTON, D.C. (Jan. 18, 2012) – On Wednesday, the Mercy College men’s basketball team received its best performance of the year out of sophomore forward Jordan Lee as he recorded the game’s only double-double, but fell to the University of the District of Columbia in East Coast Conference action in Washington, D.C., 90-58. With the victory, the Firebirds improved to 14-2 overall and 5-1 in conference play. Following the loss, the Mavericks dropped to 1-14 on the season and 0-6 in the league.

Men’s Basketball Battles ECC-Foe Queens Valiantly; Ultimately Comes Up Short, 85-77
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Jan. 14, 2012) – On Saturday afternoon, the Mercy College men’s basketball squad continued its portion of the East Coast Conference schedule as the Mavericks welcomed the Knights of Queens College into Mercy Gymnasium in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. However, due to the Mavericks having to play from behind in the second half, they could not overcome the Knights’ advantage. Queens ended up victorious, 85-77.

C.W. Post Upends Men’s Basketball Wednesday Night
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Jan. 11, 2012) – On Wednesday night, the Mercy College men’s basketball team welcomed C.W. Post into Mercy Gymnasium for the Mavericks’ first East Coast Conference home battle of the season. The Pioneers downed the Mavericks by a final score of 108-74 in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. With the win, C.W. Post improved to 10-4 overall and 4-0 in the league. Following the loss, Mercy dropped to 1-12 overall and 0-4 in the ECC.

Men’s Basketball Thwarted by ECC-Opponent NYIT
OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (Jan. 4, 2012) – On Wednesday night, the Mercy College men’s basketball team saddled up for its third East Coast Conference battle of the season. Despite a second half that saw the same number of points from each club, the Mavericks were outscored in the first half and fell to the New York Institute of Technology, 74-56 at Recreation Hall in Old Westbury, N.Y.

Men’s Basketball Nearly Completes Incredible Comeback; Edged By Ohio Dominican, 74-67
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Dec. 30, 2011) – In its final game of 2011, the Mercy College men’s basketball team nearly pulled off a 24-point comeback against Ohio Dominican University on Friday evening at the Mercy Gymnasium in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. However, the Panthers made good on their foul shots during the final minute of the contest to post the 74-67 win.

Men’s Basketball Edged By ECC-Opponent Bridgeport, 66-57; Smith Contributes Double-Double
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Dec. 17, 2011) – On Saturday afternoon, the Mercy College men’s basketball team received terrific performances out of junior guard Colin Senior (Hackensack, N.J.), who scored a game-high 17 points, and junior forward LeBrandon Smith (Jamaica, N.Y.), who recorded a double-double, but it wasn’t enough as the Mavericks fell to East Coast Conference-opponent the University of Bridgeport, 66-57, at Hubbell Gym in Bridgeport, Conn.

Men’s Basketball Topped By Division I-Opponent Univ. of Maryland Eastern Shore
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (Dec. 10, 2011) – On Saturday afternoon, the Mercy College men’s basketball team ventured down to the W.P. Hytche Athletic Centre in Princess Anne, Md. to take on Division I-opponent the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. Junior guard Colin Senior (Hackensack, N.J.) had 17 points, while junior forward Joseph Pope (Akron, Ohio) had 11, but ultimately, the Mavericks fell to the Hawks, 95-69.

New Haven Gets By Men’s Basketball in Non-Conference Tilt
WEST HAVEN, Conn. (Dec. 8, 2011) – Stepping back on the court after a heartbreaking loss like the Mercy College men’s basketball team endured last night against Molloy College (62-59) can be tough. Even tougher, however, is doing so the very next night. The Mavericks did that as they ventured to West Haven, Conn. and faced off against the University of New Haven in Charger Gymnasium on Thursday evening. The Chargers downed the Mavericks, 72-48.

Men’s Basketball Drops Heartbreaker to ECC-Foe Molloy, 62-59
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (Dec. 7, 2011) – Coming off a dominating 84-67 victory against Nyack College on Saturday, the Mercy College men’s basketball team tried to make it a two-game winning streak as it opened up East Coast Conference action against Molloy College in the Quealy Gymnasium in Rockville Centre, N.Y. on Wednesday evening. Despite the Mavericks outscoring the Lions in the second half, Molloy was able to hold off Mercy and lock up a 62-59 win.

NYACK, N.Y. (Dec. 3, 2011) – The Mercy College men’s basketball squad picked up its first victory of the 2011-12 campaign with an 84-67 win over nearby Nyack College on Saturday night. Leading the contest with 25 points was Mavericks’ junior guard Colin Senior (Hackensack, N.J.), while junior forward LeBrandon Smith (Jamaica, N.Y.) added 16.

Men’s Basketball Stumbles Against Chestnut Hill College
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Nov. 30, 2011) – On Wednesday evening, student-athletes, fans and faculty members packed the Mercy Gymnasium and created a deafening atmosphere for the Mercy College men’s basketball team’s non-conference tilt with Chestnut Hill College. The Mavericks stuck with the Griffins and battled them hard during the first half, but Chestnut Hill built up a strong lead that Mercy wasn’t able to come back from in the latter stanza. Chestnut Hill won, 86-64.

(Nov. 19, 2011) – On Saturday afternoon, the Mercy College men’s basketball team fell to Northeast-10 Conference opponent Le Moyne College, 73-53 at Mercy Gymnasium in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. With the win, the Dolphins improved to 1-1 overall. Following the loss, the Mavericks are now 0-4 on the year.

CALDWELL, N.J. (Nov. 16, 2011) – The Mercy College men’s basketball team traveled to Caldwell, N.J. on Wednesday night to take on Caldwell College in non-conference action looking for its first victory of the 2011-12 campaign. Despite junior guard Colin Senior pouring in 19 points, the Mavericks fell short against the Cougars in the George R. Newman Center, 81-70.

MANCHESTER, N.H. (Nov. 12, 2011) – The Mercy College men’s basketball squad dropped to 0-2 overall on Saturday night when the Mavericks fell to the Ravens of Franklin Pierce University, 92-46, in their second and final game of the Southern New Hampshire University Tournament. Following the victory, the Ravens improved to 2-0 on the year.

MANCHESTER, N.H. (Nov. 11, 2011) – On Friday evening, the Mercy College men’s basketball team opened up the 2011-12 campaign in Manchester, N.H. at the Southern New Hampshire University Tournament against the hosting Penmen. Southern New Hampshire took the opener, 72-41. With the win, the Penmen improved to 1-0 overall, while the Mavericks dropped to 0-1 on the young season.

Men's Basketball Announces Pair of New Additions to Coaching Staff
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Sept. 14, 2011) - Mercy College Men’s Basketball Head Coach Adam Parmenter has welcomed two new members to his coaching staff. Jeremy Fink will serve as an Assistant Coach, while Orlando Daniel has been hired as a Graduate Assistant. Fink and Daniel join current assistant coaches Matt Brundage and Michael Mei on the Mavericks’ bench.
