Jones Named To James Clancy All-Tournament Team

Rookie selected as one of six All-Tournament Team members
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Mercy College men’s basketball rookie guard Tyler Jones (Montclair, N.J./Montclair) was selected to the James Clancy All-Tournament Team over the weekend. Jones was one of six chosen, as announced by officials at Dominican College on Monday.
Jones was 9-for-15 from the floor for a 60 percent field goal percentage in the two games against Dominican and Caldwell College over New Years’ Weekend. Against Caldwell the freshman was 4-for-6 from the field, including 2-for-3 from the 3-point arc. Jones posted 21 points on Coach Baxter Court at the Fourth Annual James Clancy Tournament hosted by Dominican College at the Hennessy Center in Orangeburg, N.Y.
The rookie is the third-best leading scorer on the Mavericks team with a season-tally of 104 points. He averages 9.5 points per game
Also named to the James Clancy All-Tournament Team was Akim Neverson from Queens College, Almin Hodzic and Zach Huston from Dominican and Matt Cohen from Caldwell. Queens College's Khaleef Allicott was selected as the All-Tournament MVP.
