Mavericks Open Home-Season With Bridgeport Double-Header

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The Mercy College Mavericks basketball teams open their 2009-10 season at home on Wednesday with a league doubleheader against the University of Bridgeport Purple Knights. Tip off is schedule for 5 p.m. in the basketball doubleheader led by the Mercy College women.

Mercy College first-year women’s head coach Kelli Dunlay is looking for win No. 2 against a 4-1 Bridgeport team. The Purple Knights are undefeated in conference play so far this season (3-0). The Mavericks are 1-4 overall and 1-1 in ECC play.
The Mercy College men (0-5, 0-2 ECC), led by first-year head coach Sean O’Connor are still on the hunt for their first win of the season as the Bridgeport men are 3-2, and also undefeated in the league at 2-0.
