Steve McGuckin
Franciscan '07

Steve McGuckin joined the Mercy College men's basketball staff as a graduate assistant coach in the summer of 2007. In this position he is responsible for scouting, film exchange, academic monitoring, recruiting, and assists with the daily operations of the program.

This is McGuckin's first collegiate coaching post after playing four years at Franciscan University in Ohio, helping to build a Division III program. He was one of two four-year starting members in team history, scoring over 800 points during his career and racking up 400 rebounds and 300 assists, while serving as a captain from 2004-06.

Originally from Holmdel, New Jersey, McGuckin also served as an assistant coach with the nationally recognized Central Jersey Hawks AAU program from 2002-07. In his role, he supported, trained and assisted in all aspects of individual and team development. The Hawks made appearances at several regional events, as well as the New Jersey State AAU and National AAU Championships.

McGuckin graduated from Franciscan University in the spring of 2007 with a bachelor's degree in history. He is currently pursuing a master's in organizational leadership at Mercy.
