Kristen Znaniecki Notches NCAA Division II Saves-Per-Game National Crown!
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Nov. 15, 2011) – On Tuesday, the NCAA released its final field hockey statistics for the 2011 season and Mercy College sophomore goalkeeper Kristen Znaniecki (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) finished ranked first in the nation among Division II netminders with 11.09 saves per game. This is quite an achievement for a program only in its second year of existence.
Znaniecki logged 770 minutes between the pipes for the Mavericks this season and stopped a total of 122 shots.
Freshman defender Danielle Jones (Shrewsbury, Mass.) also put together a strong 2011 campaign as she finished ranked eighth in the country with four defensive saves.
