Kristen Znaniecki Ranks First in Country in Saves Per Game
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Oct. 11, 2011) - The NCAA released its newest Division II rankings on Tuesday and Mercy College field hockey goalkeeper Kristen Znaniecki (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) leads the country in saves per game with 11.40. The second-place netminder from East Stroudsburg University has 8.64 (2.76 behind). The sophomore has logged 700 minutes in goal for the Mavericks and has stopped a total of 114 shots.
Mercy is currently 1-11 overall in Year 2 of the program. The Mavericks picked up their first-ever victory in impressive fashion on Friday night as they knocked off Elms College, 5-1.
Head Coach Kayte Kinsley and her club return to action tomorrow when they travel to Richard Stockton College for a 7:30 p.m. battle.
