Five Student-Athletes Honored at Mercy College Awards Dinner
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (May 16, 2012) – Four Mercy College student-athletes were recognized as Award Recipients and another three were inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) at the Mercy College Honors Reception and Awards Dinner on Thursday evening.

Field Hockey's Jones, Monserrate, Wunsch Named to 2011 Gladiator Academic Squad
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Mar. 7, 2012) - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced that Mercy College's Danielle Jones, Alexis Monserrate and Lindsay Wunsch were named to the 2011 Gladiator Division II National Academic Squad.

Mercy Student-Athletes Partake in Dr. Seuss' Read Across America Day
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Mar. 2, 2012) - On Friday, Mercy College student-athletes from the Mavericks' field hockey and men's basketball teams helped give back to the Dobbs Ferry community as they headed over to the Greenburgh Eleven Elementary School a few miles from campus. These student-athletes read to Greenburgh's elementary school students on Dr. Seuss' birthday, which is Read Across America Day.

Kristen Znaniecki Notches NCAA Division II Saves-Per-Game National Crown!
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Nov. 15, 2011) – On Tuesday, the NCAA released its final field hockey statistics for the 2011 season and Mercy College sophomore goalkeeper Kristen Znaniecki (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) finished ranked first in the nation among Division II netminders with 11.09 saves per game. This is quite an achievement for a program only in its second year of existence.

Field Hockey Concludes 2011 Season with 9-1 Loss to Richard Stockton
GALLOWAY, N.J. (Oct. 27, 2011) – On Thursday afternoon, the Mercy College field hockey squad closed out its 2011 campaign with a 9-1 defeat at the hands of Richard Stockton College in Galloway, N.J. With the win, the Ospreys improved to 9-7 overall. Following the loss, the Mavericks dropped to 1-15 on the season.

Field Hockey Falls to Moravian in 4-0 Decision
BETHLEHEM, Pa. (Oct. 18, 2011) – On Tuesday afternoon, the Mercy College field hockey unit ventured down to Bethlehem, Pa. to take on the Greyhounds of Moravian College. The Mavericks dropped the afternoon sparring, 4-0. With the victory, Moravian upped its overall record to 7-6. Following the defeat, Mercy dropped to 1-14 on the season.

Tomorrow's Field Hockey Contest Against Moravian Has Been Moved to Bethlehem, Pa.
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Oct. 17, 2011) - The Mercy College athletics department announced today that the field hockey game between the Mavericks and Moravian College, scheduled for tomorrow (Oct. 18) at 4:00 p.m., will now be played on Moravian's campus in Bethlehem, Pa. The Greyhounds will now serve as the home team.

Field Hockey Stumbles Against Mercyhurst, Limestone This Weekend
GAFFNEY, S.C. (Oct. 16, 2011) – This weekend, the Mercy College field hockey squad dropped a pair of games to Mercyhurst College and host-Limestone College, both by scores of 4-1, in Gaffney, S.C. With the losses, Mercy dropped to 1-13 overall, while Mercyhurst improved to 7-9 overall and Limestone upped its record to 7-4.

Kristen Znaniecki Ranks First in Country in Saves Per Game
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Oct. 11, 2011) - The NCAA released its newest Division II rankings today and Mercy College field hockey goalkeeper Kristen Znaniecki (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) leads the country in saves per game with 11.40. The second-place netminder from East Stroudsburg University has 8.64 (2.76 behind). The sophomore has logged 700 minutes in goal for the Mavericks and has stopped a total of 114 shots.

Change in Field Hockey Schedule, Game vs. Richard Stockton Moved to Wednesday
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Oct. 10, 2011) - The Mercy College field hockey game versus Richard Stockton College, originally set for tomorrow, has been re-scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. The contest will now be played on Richard Stockton's campus in Galloway Township, N.J. and the Mavericks will be the visiting team.

Field Hockey Nipped By Ramapo College, 6-1
PURCHASE, N.Y. (Oct. 8, 2011) - Coming off its first victory in program history, the Mercy College field hockey team took to the field against Ramapo College on Saturday afternoon at GoValiants.com Field at Manhattanville College in Purchase, N.Y. The Mavericks were denied their chance at a second-consecutive win as the Roadrunners defeated them, 6-1. With the win, Ramapo improves to 7-4 overall. Following the loss, Mercy dropped to 1-11 on the year.

Field Hockey Earns First Victory in Program History with Impressive Showing Against Elms, 5-1
CHICOPEE, Mass. (Oct. 7, 2011) - Friday evening played host to Mercy College Athletics history as the Mavericks' field hockey squad earned its first win in program history over Elms College, 5-1 at Leary Field in Chicopee, Mass. Rookie midfielder/forward Giana Magosin (West Atlantic City, N.J.) helped the Mavericks to victory with a pair of goals.

Field Hockey Battles Southern Connecticut State Strong; Falls, 4-2
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Sept. 29, 2011) – Looking to earn its first victory in program history, the Mercy College field hockey team nearly accomplished that, but were thwarted late by Southern Connecticut State University on Thursday evening in New Haven, Conn. The Owls fought back to find two equalizers as the Mavericks held two different leads. With the win, Southern Connecticut improved to 3-7 overall, while the Mavericks dropped to 0-10 on the year.

PURCHASE, N.Y. (Sept. 25, 2011) – On Sunday morning, the Mercy College field hockey squad played yet another tight game. The Mavericks dropped its contest against Limestone College today, 2-0, in Purchase, N.Y., where it was played at Manhattanville College. With the win, the Saints improved to 4-1 overall. Following the loss, the Mavericks are now 0-9 on the year.

Field Hockey Goes Down to Albright on Two Early Goals
READING, PA. (Sept. 24, 2011) – On Saturday afternoon the Mercy College field hockey team took on Albright College in Reading, Pa. still looking for the program’s first win. Two quick Albright goals were enough for the Lions to claim the victory and improve to 1-7, but not without the Mavericks putting up a good fight in dropping to 0-8.

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Sept. 20, 2011) - On Sunday morning, the Mercy College Field Hockey team is set to take on Limestone College. This home game for the Mavericks will be played at Manhattanville College in Purchase, N.Y. There is also a new start time for the contest -- 10:00 a.m.

Field Hockey Topped by Vassar, 2-0
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (Sept. 16, 2011) – On Friday afternoon, the Mercy College field hockey team played arguably its best game all season long so far against Vassar College. The Mavericks and the Brewers headed into halftime with no score on the board, but Vassar was able to score in the 63rd and 64th minutes to sneak out the victory. With the win, the Brewers improved to 3-2 overall. Following the defeat, the Mavericks fell to 0-7 on the season.

HOBOKEN, N.J. (Sept. 14, 2011) – On Wednesday night, the Mercy College field hockey squad dropped its contest versus the Stevens Institute of Technology Ducks, 6-0, in Hoboken, N.J. With the victory, the Ducks improved to 1-3 overall. Following the defeat, the Mavericks fell to 0-6 on the season.

Field Hockey Home Game Against Vassar Has Been Moved to Vassar’s Campus
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. (Sept. 14, 2011) – On Friday, the Mercy College field hockey team was supposed to open up its home portion of the 2011 schedule against Vassar College at Manhattanville College’s campus. However, due to Hurricane Irene and the ensuing damages, the game will now be played at Vassar in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. and the Mavericks will remain the home team.

Field Hockey Stumbles Against Slippery Rock, 3-0
KUTZTOWN, Pa. (Sept. 10, 2011) – Early Saturday morning, the Mercy College field hockey team was back on Kutztown University’s field to spar against Slippery Rock University. The Mavericks and the Rock played to a scoreless first half, however, the hosts found the back of the netting three times in the second half to secure the 3-0 victory. With the win, the Rock improved to 1-3 overall. Following the loss, the Mavericks dropped to 0-5 on the year.

Field Hockey Falls to Bellarmine, 11-0; Drops Match to Kutztown, 5-1
KUTZTOWN, Pa. (Sept. 9, 2011) – On Friday, the Mercy College field hockey squad traveled to Kutztown, Pa. and saddled up for two games against Bellarmine University and Kutztown University. In the first contest, the Mavericks lost 11-0, while falling short in the second one versus Kutztown, 5-1. With the pair of defeats, Mercy saw its overall record fall to 0-4.

Field Hockey Suffers 4-1 Loss to Adelphi
GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (Sept. 3, 2011) – On Saturday afternoon, the Mercy College field hockey team traveled out to Long Island to face Adelphi in the second match of the 2011 season. Both teams looked to even their records after having lost their season-openers but a strong second half gave Adelphi the win, improving their record to 1-1 while Mercy drops to 0-2.

Field Hockey Falls in Season Opener to Manhattanville, 4-0
RYE, N.Y. (Sept. 1, 2011) – On Thursday evening, the Mercy College field hockey team opened up its second year of play against nearby Manhattanville College. Forced to play at the School of the Holy Child in Rye, N.Y. due to damages left by Hurricane Irene, the Mavericks dropped its campaign opener to the Valiants, 4-0. With the win, Manhattanville improved to 1-0 on the year. Following the loss, Mercy fell to 0-1 overall.
