Andrew Bock Named to ECC Baseball Honor Roll
CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (April 16, 2012) – Mercy College baseball junior right fielder Andrew Bock (Malverne, N.Y.) was named to the East Coast Conference Honor Roll for Week Eight, the ECC office announced today.
Bock posted a .450/.577/.550 slash line over six games this week, including a pair of doubles and five walks. He also scored five runs, drove in two and stole one base. Bock leads Mavericks regulars with a .291 batting average, .327 slugging percentage, 15 runs and seven stolen bases. He is also tied for first with four doubles and only nine strikeouts, tied for second with 11 RBI and leads Mercy outfielders with four assists.
The honor is Bock's second in a season that has seen several Mavericks earn All-Conference recognition, including one Pitcher of the Week and four Rookie of the Week awards.
Head Coach Bob Greiner will lead Bock and the rest of the Mavericks (6-26 overall, 4-11 in the ECC) against ECC rival Molloy College (16-19, 6-7) in Rockville Centre on Wednesday, April 18 at 3:30 p.m.
