Mercy Baseball adds Peter Milani as Assistant Coach

Mercy College Director of Athletics has announced that Peter Milani will be added to the baseball coaching staff as an assistant coach. Milani, a long-time baseball man, will work under the tutelage of Bob Greiner, who is now in his second year at the helm of the Mavericks.

Milani has been instructing and coaching baseball for over thirty years.  Since his retirement as a school teacher in New York City, he has devoted himself to the science of pitching and hitting.  Over the past ten years, he has taught over 6,000 lessons and has worked as a baseball clinician with such notables as Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, Willie Randolph and Chris Chambliss.

His coaching experience includes Harrison High School, Iona Prep, Concordia College, and the New York Generals of the ACBL, which is a pro prospect league sanctioned by both Major League Baseball and the NCAA.

Married with two children and a resident of New Rochelle, Coach Milani's efforts have helped send countless players on to college careers as well as some into Minor League Baseball.

The Mercy baseball program sported a 19-28 record in the spring of 2010, and qualified for the East Coast Conference championships.
