Mercy College Baseball Splits Doubleheader to Southeastern
LAKELAND, FL
- The Mercy College baseball team split its
doubleheader with Southeastern University on Wednesday, winning the
first game 9-5 and dropping the second 9-2. The Mavericks' record
is 4-7 this season.
In the opener, freshman Steve Marsar
(Seaford,
NY) pitched the first five
innings, allowing just one run on four hits to improve to 2-0 this
season. Senior Steve Summer (East
Meadow,
NY), sophomore Marc Dern
(Valley Stream,
NY), and freshman Mike
Ferrante (Long Beach,
NY) all had three hits. Summer
and Dern each drove in a pair, while Ferrante knocked in one and
stole a base.
Summer added a hit in game two. Junior Chris Pannullo
(Dix Hills,
NY) drove in one run with a
sacrifice fly and freshman Matt Walsh
(Staten Island,
NY) plated the other with a
double.
The Mavericks return to action on Friday, March 15 at Santaluces
Complex in Lantana, FL versus Southern Connecticut State in a
doubleheader beginning at 4 pm.
