Mercy's Craig Ross and Erik Dodge Shine Down the Stretch for Seaside Wildcats
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. - Mercy College baseball players Craig Ross (Bellmore, NY) and Erik Dodge (Fabius, NY) continue to play key roles for the Seaside Wildcats (Oregon) as they make their stretch run towards to post-season. The Wildcats play in the NW Collegiate League (NWCL), a collegiate wood bat league on the west coast.
A 5-foot-10 infielder, Ross has raised his average to .322 with one home run, 21 runs batted in and 17 runs scored. He has also drawn 21 walks, and has been hit by a pitch once, to compile a .427 on base percentage.
Dodge, a 6-foot-5 right-hander has seen considerable time out of the bullpen for Seaside. On July 14, he tossed an inning of relief in extra innings versus the Olympia Athletics, keeping them at bay while he and the Wildcats earned the victory.
The Wildcats are currently 19-21 overall, including a league record of 18-14 as they enter the final week of regular season play in second place. They will return to action on Wednesday, July 25, with a doubleheader versus the first-place Pacific Javelinas.
