Mercy's Vinnie Tesoriero Named ECC Baden Rookie of the Week
DOBBS FERRY, NY - Mercy College baseball player Vinnie Tesoriero (Glen Head, NY/North Shore) has been named East Coast Conference (ECC) Baden Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
Tesoriero, a 6-foot freshman center fielder, hit safely in four of five games last week, batting .353 (6-for-17), was a perfect 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts, and handled all nine chances in the outfield. He went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in back-to-back games versus Southeastern and Bloomfield. Tesoriero also had base hits against Palm Beach Atlantic and Franklin Pierce. On the year, he's batting .364, leading the Flyers in hits (16), runs (8), and stolen bases (6-for-7).
Mercy is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, March 21, at Briarcliffe.
