The two teams were scoreless after three and a half innings in game one, but Dowling took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI triple by James Healey.
The Golden Lions added five runs in the fifth to stretch the lead to 6-0, before tacking on two more in the sixth and single runs in the seventh and eighth innings to put it away.
Mercy struck first in game two, getting an RBI ground out from junior Joe Mercado (Orlando, FL) with one out in the top of the first inning.
That would be all the Flyers would score though, and Dowling scored three times each in the second and third innings, and scored once more in the sixth to seal the sweep.
Mercy and Dowling will meet again in Dobbs Ferry, NY, on Sunday, April 30, in the final game of their weekend series.
