Basketball season is officially upon Mercy College, as both the women’s and men’s teams open the 2010-11 campaign this weekend.

The women’s team tips off first, playing at the Dominican College tipoff tournament, just over the Tappan Zee Bridge and into Rockland County. On Friday night, Nov. 12, the Mavericks will face the hosts at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, Mercy faces Nyack College at 2:00 p.m. Both games can be viewed online via Live Stats at this link.

The men’s team opens on Saturday afternoon, at home, against the University of New Haven. Tipoff is slated for 3:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to come early, as seating is limited. Suggested donation at the door for the event is $5 for adults, $3 for non-Mercy College students, and $2 for children and seniors. Faculty, staff, and students showing a Mercy College ID are free.
