Mercy College Basketball Teams Host Clinic for Area Cub Scouts

DOBBS FERRY, NY - The Mercy College men's and women's basketball teams held a free clinic for 30 Cub Scouts from Westchester and Putnam Counties on Saturday, February 28, prior to their doubleheader versus NYIT.

Student-athletes and coaches provided instruction for the hour long clinic at the Mercy College Gymnasium. Stations and drills covered dribbling, passing, shooting and defense. The event concluded with an exciting team dribbling competition.  Scouts earned a belt loop and activity pin for their participation.

Mercy College student-athletes have conducted numerous community service and engagement activities throughout the year. Along with Saturday's event, they have volunteered at soccer, basketball and multi-sport clinics, and an after school program. Their efforts have also raised funds for two breast cancer research organizations and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
