Marin, Wellington Split Mercy Men's Student-Athlete of the Month Award; Reece and Baxter Take Home Women's Honors

Junior Michael Marin and senior Chanze Wellington of the men's basketball team have been named Mercy's Male Co-Student-Athletes of the Month for November, while freshman women's basketball player Delmara Reece and junior teammate Christina Baxter share the female honors.

Marin averaged 15.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in the first four outings of the season. He shot 41.2 percent from three-point range for the month, and 77 percent at the free throw line. Marin netted 20 points and pulled in six rebounds in season opener at St. Michael's. He also registered his first career double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds, to go with three blocks and two steals in Mercy's first win at Queens.

Wellington averaged 15.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. He shot 48 percent from the field overall, including 52 percent (11-for-21) from three point distance, and 78 percent from the free throw line. Wellington opened the season with 22 points, eight rebounds, and five assists at St. Michael's. He also scored 20 points and grabbed seven boards in the win at Queens.

In four games, Baxter averaged team-bests of 11.5 points per game, 4.8 assists per game, and 2.0 steals per game. She scored double-digits in three games, netting 12 points against St. Michael's, 14 against Nyack, and 18 against Queens. Baxter registered five assists in the first three games and four against Queens.

Reece averaged 10.0 points and a team-best 8.8 rebounds per game in November. She opened her collegiate career with 17 points and nine rebounds versus Franklin Pierce. Reece then recorded her first career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds at Nyack. She also grabbed 12 boards to go with seven points at Queens.
