Delmara Reece and Nizar Chahbani Named October Student-Athletes of the Month

DOBBS FERRY, NY - Freshman women's soccer player Delmara Reece and senior men's soccer player Nizar Chahbani have been selected as Mercy College's Student-Athletes of the Month for October.

Reece totaled 12 points in nine games on six goals, including a pair of game-winners. Her first game-winner came in a 4-2 victory at Concordia on October 13 as she scored three goals in the contest. Reece added one goal in defeat at New Haven before netting both goals in a 2-1 triumph over Felician.

In seven games, Chahbani racked up 15 points on six goals, including two game-winners, and three assists. He was named ECC Offensive Player of the Week on October 8, after netting the decisive goals in victories over St. Thomas Aquinas and Concordia. Chahbani has been selected to the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District First Team and the All-ECC Second Team.
