Mercy College Names Elissa Krossber and Devon Mirjah November Student-Athletes of the Month

            DOBBS FERRY, NY -  Graduate student Elissa Krossber (Canandaigua, NY/Marcus Whitman) of the women's basketball team and senior Devon Mirjah (Bronx, NY/Malverne) of the men's basketball team have been selected as Mercy College's Student-Athletes of the Month for November.

            Krossber averaged 12.8 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game through the first four outings of the season. She shot 83.3 percent at the free throw line for the month, hitting 15 of 18 attempts. Krossber scored in double-digits three times, netting 16 against UMass-Lowell, 12 against New Haven, and 19 in the Flyers' first win since 2003-04, at Medgar Evers on November 20.

            Mirjah averaged 16.0 points per game, and 7.0 rebounds per game during the Flyers' first three outings of the season. He shot 42.6 percent from the field and was a perfect 6-for-6 at the free throw line. After scoring eight points and grabbing nine rebounds in the season opener vs. Pace, he tallied 15 points and five rebounds against Stonehill. Mirjah closed out the month by netting 25 points and collecting seven rebounds in Mercy's first win of the season over New Haven on November 30.

            The Mercy College men's and women's basketball teams will return to action on Saturday, December 9, in an East Coast Conference (ECC) doubleheader.  Both games will be played at Dobbs Ferry High School.  The men will tip-off at noon, followed by the women at 2:00 p.m.
