Mercy College Student Athletes Graduate
on Wednesday, May 30, 2007 
DOBBS FERRY, NY - At the 72nd Commencement Ceremony, 30 past and present Mercy College student-athletes received undergraduate degrees, seven received graduate degrees and one received an associate degree. The ceremonies were held at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY, on Wednesday, May 30.
Several of this year's class graduated with honors. Bia Pante of the women's soccer team and Ann Marie Popovic of the track and field team graduated Summa Cum Laude. Two women's soccer players, Chioma Egbuchuman and Lindsay Levasseur graduated Magna Cum Laude. Joining them with the same honor was Natassia Jones of the volleyball team and Hanspeter Gartner of the men's tennis team. Althia Mills of the volleyball team, men's soccer player Alexandre Augusto, and Schadrac St. Louis of the track and field squad graduated Cum Laude.
Levasser was this year's recipient of the Mercy College Alumni Achievement Award for outstanding leadership and volunteerism. She also earned department honors for Behavioral Science. Pante and Popovic also received department honors in English and Egbuchuman received the same distinction from the Media Studies department. Augusto, Gartner and Khadijah Khan of the women's soccer team received department honors in, Business Administration, Psychology and Therapeutic Recreation, respectively.
Edward Murray, men's track and field, and Melissa Lisbona women's track and field are members of the Kappa Delta Pi. Gartner is a member of Pi Gamma Mu. Four former student-athletes that received Masters of Science graduated with distinctions, Jeannine Blake (track & field), Kristi Corless (women's basketball), Tara Doherty (softball), and Claudia Miller (volleyball).
