Devon Mirjah and Elissa Krossber Named Mercy College's February Student-Athletes of the Month

            DOBBS FERRY, NY -  Graduate student Elissa Krossber (Canandaigua, NY/Marcus Whitman) of the women's basketball team and senior Devon Mirjah (Bronx, NY/Malverne) of the men's basketball team have been selected as Mercy College's Student-Athletes of the Month for February.

            Mirjah, a 6-foot-8 senior forward/center, averaged a team-best 14.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game over the final eight games of the season for the Flyers. He shot 40 percent from the field, including 9-of-23 (39.1 percent) from three-point range and hit 74 percent at the free throw line. Mirjah scored in double-digits in six of eight games, including a 28-point performance at Molloy.

A 5-foot-9 guard, Krossber closed out her collegiate career by averaging team-bests of 18.0 points and 6.7 rebounds per game over Mercy's final nine contests of the year. During that stretch she shot 43 percent from the field, including 49 percent (24-for-49) from three-point distance, and was nearly perfect from the free throw line, going 46-for-49 (94 percent). Krossber scored in double-digits in eight of the nine games in February, going for 20 or more five times, including 25 in her final collegiate game.
