Meredith Pope joined the Mercy Department of Athletics in November of 2010 as the Head Athletic Trainer, where she oversees the prevention, immediate care, and rehabilitation for all of Mercy’s 10 sports. She directy covers the men's soccer, women's basketball, and men's lacrosse programs.

Directly prior to Mercy, Pope worked as a Physical Therapist extender at ACAC in Charlottesville, Va., where she was outsourced as the Certified Athletic Trainer for Western Albemarle High School. During her tenure in Virginia, she earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Virginia in Athletic Training while working clinically with the UVA football and men’s lacrosse teams. Pope's thesis (Spatial Postural Control Alterations with Chronic Ankle Instability), completed at the University of Virginia, was recently published in Gait and Posture and presented as an Oral Free Communication at the National Athletic Trainer's Association annual meeting in New Orleans, LA in June of 2011.
As an undergrad at Castleton (Vt.) State, she earned New England Women’s Lacrosse Alliance Second Team All Conference honors as a goalie. A true student-athlete, she graduated Magna Cum Laude with her degree in Athletic Training and served as the President of the Athletic Training Club.
 
Pope is certified to teach First Aid and CPR classes by the Red Cross, and has had several articles published in professional journals.
 
Originally from Montpelier, Vt., Pope currently resides in the West Harrison, N.Y.
